In the company’s strategy document – the “Barilla Lighthouse” – diversity is presented as a fundamental business goal. In the words of Chief Executive Officer Claudio Colzani, “Promoting diversity and inclusion is not just about ‘doing the right thing’, but also about supporting our growth strategy. A diverse workforce and an inclusive culture boost engagement and allow for a deeper understanding of society, leading to stronger decision-making.” Equality, inclusion and diversity have long been grounded in Barilla’s culture, values and code of conduct and are a key driver for our growth model and our way of doing business.

By embarking on result-oriented partnerships with external organizations, implementing tangible changes in policy and procedures, raising awareness of diversity and inclusion as a business imperative, naming a Chief Diversity Officer who reports directly to the CEO, and securing a long-term commitment from our senior leadership to these advances.
